  • Tyre cord:
    A car tyre consists of a tread area, the protective sidewall, the layer of bracing plies, the steel bead wires and the air-tight inner liner. The layer of bracing plies is the “frame“ of a tyre and consists of the belt (radial casing plies) and tread grooves. These layers of fabric are crucial for the tyre’s strength and are synthetic fibres encapsulated in rubber. In order to create the so-called tyre cord fabric, a weaving machine is used to ensure the correct distance of the tyre cord for vulcanisation.
  • Cam mechanism:
    The precise cam mechanism with complementary cams is similar to an oscillating gear, as it transforms regular rotational movement of the drive shaft into oscillating movement. The specific movement profile for the respective application is determined by the design of the actual cams. The complementary cam disk is a double cam disk with a positive fit between the two cams via the triangular lever shaft at the drive. This also ensures precise movement.
  • Terry cloth:
    In contrast to normal fabric, terry cloth is formed from three types of yarn: the ground warp, the pile warp and the weft yarn. At a certain distance to the border weft, at least three wefts are interwoven with the highly tensioned ground warp and the low tension pile warp. Since the pile warp beam provides a greater length of warp than the ground warp beam, a special reed motion allows this extra length of pile warp to form loops. The loop height corresponds to roughly half the distance between the selvedge and the weft group. This distance is achieved by shortening the reed stop or moving the fabric table. To create terry cloth patterns, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 pick weaves can be used. In this case, the terry weaving machine must have a pile control system.
